Let’s examine the facts.

Metal roofs don’t catch on fire. They are fire-rated and non-combustible. Texas brush or wildfires? You need a metal roof. Wicked rain and lightening storms? You need a metal roof.

Metal roofs also conserve energy by more efficiently releasing energy from the sun. As a matter of fact a metal roof can reduce your air conditioning by 40% in the summer. The U.S. Department of Energy published a study back in 2007 that found the winter air space under metal roofs was 20 degrees warmer than asphalt. The Oak Ridge National Laboratory did the study.

​The contemporary metal roof is engineered to last for decades without corroding. 
Many are warranted for 40 years so they won’t fade, peal or chalk. The paints we use are like baked-on enamel and are much more high tech as are the metals themselves.

They are heavier than traditional roofing materials
Metal roofs are actually lighter than other materials. An asphalt shingle roof can be double the weight of the modern metal roofs. Other materials like slate can be three times the weight.

​Nope. Lightning is attracted to the highest point. Just because it conducts electricity doesn’t mean it attracts lightning. The answer to this is just ‘nope’.

​Actually, if installed with adequate underlayment which dampens the sound, they aren’t nearly as loud as older metal roofs without it. As a matter of fact, the technology has developed a synthetic underlayment that blocks the sound fantastically.
